Health Shift Happens

For health we were talk to talk about one of the things that impacted us the most in life.

Mine would be having to having surgery when I was a baby because if I didn't I could have died because one of the tubes your food goes though that tube for me was to small so when I would have something to eat or dink I would vomit it back up After about 2 to 5 minutes so that would mean that I was getting no food into my stomach so if my parents didn't take me back to the hospital I would have starved to death or something like that. So after my parents had taking me to the hospital I had to go over to Christchurch hospital have have surgery don't forgot that I was only about 2 or 3 days old here. So they cut me open and made that tube bigger. So now a have a scar on my stomach.

Jack (My Brother) And I have a joke that is. I Ate his muffin and when I was asleep he wanted to get it back so he tried to cut it out

Year 8 Challenge: Tramping the Mikonui

I Woke up not sure what to think I got ready then went down to the school where I had to show Mr S-W Some stuff in my pack then Calder helped me fit my pack. Just after that, we did the roll and then we hit the road down to Mikonui. When we got there we had to wait for the farmer to move his cattle which was like an hour or two. After that we could finally start the tramp its self it was easy at first but then when we got about halfway it started to get really hard I got sore shoulders and sometimes it was just like can we stop.

When we got to the campsite we had to put up the tent my tent group was Me, Isaac K (His Tent) And Cameron. After we had put the tent I had some stuff to eat than me and some other people went into the bush to get some firewood. A lot of the wood was wet because it had been drizzling in the day when we got back from firewood hunting we could go for a swim in the river if we wanted. I couldn't be bothered going for a swim because we just had a massive tramp so I just watched and recorded some jumps for Mr S-W. For Dinner, my food group and I had Sizzlers they were good because I used a roll and made it into a hot dog so that was awesome.

We did a solo it is where we got put in the bush for 20 minutes by our selfs with our torch because it is dark and a book and pencil it was boring (That's what I think anyway) We did some riddling some of them I had no idea what people are talking about I was completely lost. Then it was time to go to sleep I think that I had a pretty good sleep which was a surprise.

For breakfast, my group had pancakes they were a bit hard to cook because the pan we were using had lost it's non-stick that made it so you had to be very careful when you were going to flip the pancake. Overall it was an awesome trip

Weekly Reflection

This week was a lot different than a normal because as you will know that there was a massive earthquake I woke up just before it started because my dog started barking then it all started the whole house was shaking not long after it started my Mum came in and said it might be time to get up I leaped up and went under the door frame (Yes I know that's a bad place to be) On Monday at school the whole day was about earthquakes. We made Kahoots about it mine was pretty random and weird. Overall, I hope there is not another earthquake like that in my lifetime

Awesome Ski Trip (Temple Basin)

When I woke up I was nervous and pumped to go skiing when we got to school I loaded my stuff into a car and we went to temple basin goods lift and we loaded up our stuff then we had to drive a bit more down the road and we started walking up the mountain it was a really hard walk up because it got really steep. When we got up to temple basin lodge we went in and had some lunch and put our stuff in our bunk rooms then it was finally time to go skiing! at first, we had to get our boots and skis I was amazed how heavy ski boots are then we went and played on a hill that was just outside the lodge I walked all the way to the top and slid all the way down doing 180s and 360s it was really fun by this point everyone had got into their ski boots and we got to try start skiing at first I had no idea what so ever I was doing I got told how to do a pizza and I went down the mountain and crashed I knew this was a small crash and I had bigger crashes to come but luckily I Liked crashing I found it funny and cool. We had to walk up the mountain and ski down falling over at least 30 times I found it really boring at first.

The next day Grace helped me learn how to ski because we got some people that could already ski helping the people that could not ski I learned a lot from her after lunch we had to do the dishes we had so many dishes it was funny it took us an hour I think all I wanted to do was get back out there and ski because my friends were starting to go on the tow rope when I got back onto the ski field I got to go on the tow rope at first I was really nervous because I knew it was going to be hard skiing down the mountain I got up to where I wanted to be and I got off the rope and falling over I got back up put my skis on and tried to ski down the mountain I got almost to the end and I crashed going really fast I slid really far down the mountain then after I stopped sliding I got back up and got my skis that were 10m away from me. After about 15 runs down the mountain I could finally ski better than what I thought I can the next day ski was totally different in the morning because the snow was really slippery and I was falling over a lot at first then I started to get better later in that day I got a turning season with Steve (Kate's Dad) And it helped me a lot it was putting my weight on the other ski and little things like that but it helped a lot this made me be able to turn around markers and stuff like that.

Overall, I think this is the best challenge and I want to go skiing again for sure!

My French Learning

The school teachers  speak french and also teach french in some parts of Belgium
Belgium also has a lot of french bakeries and shops such as Wax.  It is a bakery frituur snacks which is a snack shop.
Belgian French is the variety of French spoken mainly among the French Community of Belgium, alongside related Oïl languages of the region such as Walloon, Picard, Champenois and Lorrain

In France, the number ‘seventy’ is ‘soixante-dix’. This literally translates as ‘sixty-ten’. This is particularly confusing for a non-native speaker of French as one hears the number start with ‘soixante’ but in fact it is ‘seventy’ and not ‘sixty’ as would be logical. Fortunately, Belgians say ‘septante’ instead. This is easier to learn as ‘septante’ comes from sept seven
